Thoughts please

My partner has been put in the hospital with pneumonia and renal failure (her kidneys are functioning at 11%). We could use all the thoughts and prayers possible. Thank you

Here is an update: The hospital I took her to are morons. When she went in, her sugar was 160 as of yesterday they had allowed it to get to 932 (almost to the point of a diabetic coma). They moved her into ICU to administer an insulin IV. The good news is her pneumonia & wheezing has almost stopped. The other bad news is her kidneys are functioning at 10% and she will most definitely be needing dialysis soon. Thank you so much for your prayers. They are keeping me strong and being felt.

I cant believe how stupid they are. They could have killed her. I am so sorry that the 2 of you are going through this, just stay strong and know we are all here for you.

You have to keep a good eye out for yourself and loved ones in those hospital. I'm so sorry that happened to you. I'm so happy to hear that the Pneumonia and weezing has stopped. That's fantastic! I always just try to stay positive and see the best in everything during times like this and thank the good Lord we have the options to do things like dialysis. My Grandma used to go to dialysis 3 times a week and the people there were soooooo nice to her. I really hope everything works out for the two of you.......keep us posted.

Update: She is out of ICU and back into a regular room. When she left the ICU her sugar was at 180, since she has been moved back to a reg room they have given her more steroids and it has jumped to nearly 400 again. I talked to her lung dr and he said the pneumonia part is gone so she doesnt understand why they are giving her steroids again. I guess it's up to me to go find out. She trusts them and I'm in medical field and trust no one . Thank you for the thoughts and prayers. We were hoping she'd come home Monday, but it doesnt look like it if her sugar keeps spiking. Also her kidneys are worse today (now at 8%). They are going to look at her again tomorrow and if it's worse again, they will put a central line in to start dialysis. I think I need to talk to a lawyer about all this mess!!

Another update: They are going to put a central line in in the morning and start dialysis either tomorrow afternoon or on Tuesday. They will keep her in the hospital for 3 rounds of dialysis (to get her used to it) and then she should be released into my care, but will do dialysis 3 days a week. Here is to the start of a long journey. Even longer since we are still trying to get pregnant!

I know you told us already, but its you thats going to be pregnant, right? I hope so, your partner has been through so much lately. What wonderful news it will be to hear once it takes. Good luck with it, and Im really hoping you will get pregnant soon.

Yes, it is me who will be getting pregnant. We found a great donor who is willing to help us until we do get pregnant. I think if it takes soon that it will give my partner more hope to keep going and my grandmother too (she had an aneurism 2 months ago).

She got to come home last night at 8pm. It's so nice to have her where she belongs! She starts dialysis 3 days a week starting tomorrow and will return to work in another week. She seems to be responding well to the dialysis, but I think she's got a bit of depression. I told her she's got someone who is standing by her, two great kids who love her and a buttload of people who dont even know her who are sending their thoughts and prayers. That snapped her out of it

good to her that she is home. i will continue the prayers and i hope she feels better really soon.

How is everything going with your lady? Is she okay? Is she cheering up. How is dialysis going? They better be nice to her.

She is doing pretty good. Still getting used to going to dialysis and then to work on top of taking about 10 pills a day. Her dialysis drs are awesome and they really listen to what she's saying (when she speaks up). They are putting her on a transplant list soon and hopefully I will be a match.

This morning, I was rear-ended and strained/sprained my ankle, back and neck . The sad thing is, I just paid the stupid car off and got the title 2 days ago. The damage is minimal (thank goodness), but I hate even having to deal with it. When it rains, it pours.

oh man, isn't that just murphy's law?! anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. BUT then there is when one door closes another opens. Keep your head up, everything will work out for the best. Still in my prayers!
