hey girls!! i mailed patty out the coupon train today... fyi i was going to just put the coupons in an envelope and mail them out and the lady at the post office said it would be 8 something but she said if i got a small flat rate box it is only 4.95 so that is what i did there is a million coupons in the box but i was wondering if maybe we should only do like 3 months worth of coupons at a time because i know there are some for next year in there... maybe if we just put in a couple months worth at a time it might be cheaper... what do you girls think??

holy smokes....the most I ever paid at one time was $4....there must be a ton.....well, i was thinking we might want to split the train in to two sections. What I was going to do is start another train around the same circuit when this train got half way through, which it is now. That way people would get one sooner and also we could split the coupons in half and only send half in each one.
Patty, since they are on their way to you, what do you think? If you think this idea would work, then why don't you hold on to a few of those coupons until train #2 gets to you. Mail out the ones that you don't want, get rid of the ones that will be expired in the next week or so. But keep just a few back that will be good for awhile....It will be smaller, and you could combine what comes in train #2 to what ever you decide to hold back, and then send train #2 out.
Oh, man, did that sound confusing???
I just think it might be better to have two going at the same time, on the same route, so that people are getting it in half the time. it would be ideal if we can make sure everyone gets it at least once a month.
Let me know if this sounds good and I will send out #2 as sson as I can. Also let me know if you have any questions about doing it this way....

well, since I will be the one starting out number two, i will just follow the same route that number one goes by....we haven't spoken much of rotation yet, it hasn't even made it all the way around once yet, so let's see how it goes with running it this way, then when i start out number two (if I hear from Patty), then I will just go the exact same route as number one...when it changes routes, so will number two....number two will be just the same only about four people behind number one.

Sounds great!! I will split it when I get it. But maybe we should keep the list the same way, since there isnt that many on the list anyways, and that way there isnt any confusion on which train goes to who. Like I will mail 1 to Boheme, then the other to Flame (to start the new train), then Flame will always mail to Deedee/IDL, Deedee always to Laura and so on. That way, The rotation is the same, but we will get them more often. I just dont want to get the train and be like, Which train is this and it goes to who? Does that make sense.

i think a second train would be great honestly i had to stuff coupons in the 4.95 flat rate box just to make them fit and i only put in nov,dec,jan coupons and feb and so on i just held onto because there was just to many.... i think we should keep the same rotation so that for me i have pattys address and i always know that after i get it i have to send it to patty... it would make things less confusing... so eaither we should have 2 trains or people just put in 3 months worth at a time... ( but honestly i filled a long white envelope stuffed full and that was only with 3 months worth of coupons ) so i think once patty says it made it to her house then deedee you can start a second one ( if u need some coupons for the second one let me know deedee and i will mail them out today) but like i said if postage is more then 4.95 ask the post office for a small flat rate box that will help save money keep me updated and anyone else if u have any ideas let deedee and laura know !!!!

It doesn't matter if I start the next train or Deedee starts it....it will still be in the same mailing order. I can't get to the post office till the end of this week or the beginning of next so let me know if ya'll are waiting for me to start it or if Deedee will start it. Also if I start the next train then the two trains might be too close together.

I love that we're starting the new train but really in the long run it's not saving any money because now we're just shipping twice as often.... in the flat rate box it will at least stay a flat rate price...... but we will be getting the coupons faster .

yea u have a point flame... what if we only did 3 months worth of coupons?? because there is no need to put in coupons that dont expire for a year... when i used the flat rate box i had it stuffed full so if others dont take many and add a bunch i dont think they will be able to fit all the coupons in a 4.95 box....
