My boys have very thick, kinda shaggy hair and they love using the Knot Genie. They ask for it every morning when they are getting ready for school. It goes through their hair easily and seems to tame those "fly-aways" quite easily. When they wake up with major bed hair, they just dampen their hair a little bit and brush through it with the Knot Genie and it ends up looking great with little effort. My two year old, who has thinner, short, fine hair says it hurts his head, but will still allow me to brush his hair with the Knot Genie. I have been using this brush on my own hair, and it works great. It makes my hair feel soft and whispy as if it pulls each hair separate from the rest. It doesn't hurt my head at all, I think it feels great, like someone massaging my head.
Overall, the Knot Genie is a huge success in our house, I only wish they had one with softer bristles for people with thin, fine hair and tender heads.
