MY EBAY DAYS MAY BE NUMBERED

Well, once a month around the middle of the month I do meticulous books for my eBay "business". I just got done figuring out my "losses" for August.
I received $151.31
postage cost me $66.76
eBay fees cost $51.79 (which included nearly $30.00 in unsold item fees)
and I had $57.95 in expenses
For a whopping net gain of -$25.19...yeah 25 bucks in the hole!!!!

I think I will give it one or two more months and if I keep going at this rate I will give it up!!! That's just plum nuts!

Oh geeze!! I'm so sorry to hear Dee! I was going to post some things on there, but after reading through everything, it would have been a waste of our money. I hope things start to go better for you!

Wow Dee. I'm so sorry. Geez I never knew how much ebay sucked up. This is a real eye opener for alot of people who have never sold stuff there. Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah, like I said I will give it a couple more months. I won't have ANY "expenses" in the coming months, so that would be improved. And I will be much more careful about how I post things to try to make sure I don't have such a high "unsold item charge". But if I continue to lose money it just isn't worth all the work I put into it. I will continue to buy stuff wholesale, but sell them at garage sales or on craigslist.

hey pm if you want to go through all your stuff on what you spend for expenses, etc. im pretty good at that stuff. like i told you i used to do that all the time and made some good moolah.

As an accountant, I know what you mean! When I try to figure out if something is worth it, i always take into consideration my time and thats the most expensive expense!
I am trying to get all my neighbors to go in and have a block yard sale - i need to clear out a ton of stuff that is taking up space and the money would come in handy for christmas and pet food.

hey sherry, you should still try ebay out! you could put a reserve on your painting and it wont sell unless someone bids that amount and it probably only cost about tops $2 depending on how much you want it to sell for.
