what kind of mailbox do you have?

i have one attached to my house but i am moving and they have the mailbox attached to the "community" like 10 together and one or 2 spots for pkg's..... how is this going to accomadate my freebies???????? if its full will they bring to my door???

anyone else have these mailboxes??

i had that kind when i lived in my townhome. if both large boxes are full you will probably get a notice to pick it up at the post office or they may be nice and just redeliver the next day.

i currently have a locking mailbox that is large enough to get a lot of stuff but the opening for the postman is only about 1" high so that postman has to get off their lazy butt and walk larger packages up to my door. on my street there are only 2 of us that have a mailbox in front of our house - the rest of houses have theirs (ones like pattys) in the middle of the block all in one area. our postal carriers don't get out of their trucks unless they have to.

the last place I lived had the big community boxes, I never had to go to the post office, but i made sure to make friends with my mail lady right away!!!!

But I too have this one in white as well.
We rent where I live and the first mailbox we had was a plastic black one that looked like this but after like 4 years...the flap on it got loose and broke off. So our landlord got us this one here in the picture but in white and now instead of being smaller it's bigger and white metal. We like it. We just hope it doesn't rust.

I don't get mail delivery in my community...and they don't have the cluster boxes so I have to drive to the Post Office to get my mail. The box is free if you live in a spot with no mail delivery. I love the PO employes there. So friendly and helpful....

, i didn't know there was any place left in America with no mail delivery. I mean, I lived in RURAL Montana some years back, and even we had mail delivery.....oh, but wait, that was only for people who lived in the toolies, the people in town all had boxes. Hey! And we had to PAY for our boxes. It was dirt cheap compared to today's prices, but still!!!

The ironic part is that my husband, soon to be ex, works for the Post Office as a Letter Carrier in Allentown....But I get UPS and Fed-Ex deliveries....go figure....

Okay, I'm kinda trying to make out what parts of the computer they used to make this mailbox. Of course we know that's it's from an Apple because of the Apple pic on the side of the mailbox..but man..when the heck it all the other parts from????
It is unusual and though. And weather proof looking. On the top it looks like cars headlights. ???? I don't know ?

That is what Mac G4 tower computer looks like - they took out the cd/dvd drive and put a metal flap for the incoming mail and added the numbers 55 i guess for their address. the round ring thing above the apple logo is where you open the computer to add extra memory and stuff. I have 2 of these and the new 24" IMAC and a pc laptop. can you say geek? LOL

Thanks Deedee for putting this in here. I'm sure I'm not the only dufus head who hasn't seen this before either. Makes me feel so much better that I'm not the only one.

i've got a regular gray box, like the black one that's been posted... i never had a box outside my house until a few months ago, we always drove out to the post office (still do, actually)... the walk to my mailbox is quite far, and if i've got to much mail the cute mail man will drive up to my house, and knock on my door to deliver my stuff... *blush* LOL
