The Company
Mooney Farms began in 1987 as a family owned kiwi farming operation. Products were sold at the farmer’s markets in Northern California by the family members. With the addition of sun dried tomatoes, their first sale to Price Club South San Francisco changed everything. The family’s Bella Sun Luci Sun Dried Tomatoes in Olive Oil & Herbs sold out in a record 4 hours! Sun dried tomatoes had become mainstream and the Mooney Family had the winning recipe!

The Review
I received one bottle of Bella Sun Luci Julienne Cut Tomatoes with Italian Herbs, Tomato Halves with Italian Herbs, Tomato Pesto Sauce with Whole Pine Nuts, Sun Dried Tomato Bruschetta, one bag of Sun Dried Julienne Tomatoes and one sack of Sun Dried Julienne Tomatoes with Italian Basil to review.

Look at how thick, rich and full of yummy spices in each spoonful of the Tomato Pesto Sauce with Whole Pine Nuts. You know this is going to make any dish tasty.



I love sun dried tomatoes so I was so excited to get each and every one of these products! I immediately set about looking for a recipe to try. They have scores of great Recipes on their site from appetizers to entrees. I choose to make a Sausage & Pesto Penne Pasta dish.

Ingredients:
1 lb Italian sausage (I used pork sausage and added one teaspoon of Italian seasoning)
8.5 oz bottle of Tomato Pesto Sauce
1 lb penne pasta
1 large green pepper (chopped)
1 medium onion (chopped)
3 cloves garlic (finely minced)
2 tablespoons of olive oil
4 oz Feta Cheese crumbled
Parsley

Directions:
Fry sausage, onions, garlic and peppers in olive oil until golden brown. Add bottle of pesto and cook on low until thoroughly heated.

Cook pasta per box instructions. Drain add to sauce and toss to coat. Top with feta cheese and parsley. Serve!
