Bicycle enthusiast, Michael Eidson, is competing in the "Hotter'N h*** 100." And that's exactly what it is: a 100-mile road race in the grueling summer heat of Wichita Falls, Texas. Water is vital to surviving the race, and there are few places to refill a water bottle. Eidson, an emergency medical technician by trade, decides to fill an IV bag with water and slip it into a white tube sock. Yes, a tube sock. Then he stuffs the contraption into the back of his bike jersey, throws the thin hose over his shoulder and clamps it with a clothespin.

Hands-free hydration is born. And Eidson is able to drink as he pedals...while the other racers laugh and fiddle with their water bottles.

Drinking water from CamelBak^® Groove™ is easy and fast. CamelBak^® Groove™ employs Bite Valve technology - simply bite it slightly and sip as you would out of a straw. A recent study by Pepperdine University revealed that people who drink from CamelBak Bottles drink up to 24% more water than people who drink from other reusable bottles or plastic disposable bottles. So CamelBak^® Groove™ is so easy to drink from that it can help you be better hydrated.



It was very easy to get it ready to use all you do is wash everything except the filter with warm soapy water then run the filter under the faucet for 15 seconds and assemble.

The bottle has a soft plastic mouthpiece from which you sip the water. At first I wasn’t sure about biting to drink but it only took a few times of use to get used to the bite valve piece. I love have fresh filtered water to drink at a moments notice.

The Fresh™ Filter is inside the straw (see picture above - it is the black cylinder). Each Fresh™ Filter is plant based and reliably reduces contaminants for 300 refills of the bottle, or approximately 3 months of use at 3 – 4 full bottles per day (48 gallons / 180 liters).
