I thought since Christmas is right around the corner and its a bit tight for quite a few people that we could post great gift ideas that run cheap!
***IF YOU NEED HELP WITH ANY THING I POSTED JUST LET ME KNOW!***
Here is one i do quite often with family, friends and co-workers....

basket- $ store(you can get a basket or a popcorn bin there)
boxed CHEAP christmas gifts 189237- $ store
popcorn- $ store
2 sodas-optional

total: $8-$13

Family basket:

also! if you know how to sew...

you can make beautiful hand towels by buying just basic white(or any colors) and buying a strip of fabric. say their kitchen is in apples. buy apple fabric and white towels then cut a strip to go along the bottom of the towels. doen in minutes.
2 towels $4 ,$2 for fabric (if that)
total: $6

you can do 4 placemats to go with it as well or as its own gift.
fabric, batting lining for inside total:$10 max

knit scarves $3 you can buy a thing that is a cheater to knitting too and make beanies, booties, scarves, etc.

also, you made me that cool towel that has the magnet on it...it was a towel, a potholder to match and a heavy duty magnet. Fold the potholder in half and sew the kitchen towel INTO it, and apply the magnet onto the back. it is really decorative and it is HANDY too!

I also know that there are a few people on here who use a food benefits card....and a great, cheap christmas present is a coffee mug full of instant hot chocolate or latte along with a box of christmas cookies. You buy the coffee mug at the $ store and the drink mixes and cookies you can buy with your food benefits card.

oh and heating pads too.
you can get any nice fabric and make it into a cool shape or regular and sew it with just a little opening and fill with rice. then sew closed.

you can make cool non-slip slipper socks for kids.
get a cool pair of socks, then add whatever designs on the bottom with puffy paint.

get 2 boxes of sandwhich bags(no zipper), a wire hanger, fake red poinsenettas.total:$3

shape hanger into a circle, tie bags all the way around until it is completely full. then add poinsenettas. looks great when done too. here is a pic from online BUT they did with trash bags, it looks better with baggies.CHEAP christmas gifts Wreath

So cute!!! Im using the ones I got from my UL HP. They sent me a ton of wreaths and ribbon. I ran out of ornaments, but you can get a big package of small ornaments at the $ store. So I went over there and got 2 more packs.
Its also really cute to make wreaths out of scrap fabrics. You get one of those straw wreaths, and a ton of leftover or sample CHEAP christmas gifts 561787 fabric. Cut the fabric into 2 inch squares. Then you take scissors and place it in the center of the fabric pushing it into the wreath. Just do that all over, and it turns out real cute. See below.

all great ideas! i used to do the mug thing - bought them at big lots then added coffee, tea or cocoa, throw in a few hersey kisses wrap in colored cellophane (big lots again!) and tie with a bow down. i used to have 10 employees so this helped keep the cost down and everyone basically got the same thing. for my managers i would do the gift basket with a nice kitchen towel to line it, then add my baked goodies and homemade candy. wrap it in the colored cellophane add a bow down and wait for the applause lol

Post by Deedee Sun Dec 13, 2009 10:01 pm

Hey guys, I just thought of the ultimate Cheap (free) Christmas gift...and it is one that keeps giving.

Okay here is what you have to do...
1. Decide who it is for, (I will walk you through this using my daughter Amanda in Montana as a "reference") So..it is for AMANDA
2. Make a email account for that person, that you can get into...it is real easy with gmail...so let's pretend I made AMANDA@gmail (this isn't the one i made for her, so don't worry) But you need the email for your person so that YOU can confirm the emails for these things.
3. Start at the very last page of our freebies and work your way up, signing up for each and every one of the freebies we have in here....using your person's name and address and the email you made for them.
4. Send them a card that tells them what you did and they should be expecting freebies to start coming in the mail any day now, and that they will continue to come for about 2-3 months from now.
5. Make sure in the card you write down the URL to this site, so they know where to come for MORE freebies.

You are likely to get them all excited about getting freebies after getting so much cool stuff in the mail. How do you think I got Allese all involved in it?
